A small deposit and the empty tables disappear.
No-shows cost you a whole evening of revenue. Voxori automatically asks for a small iDEAL deposit on phone reservations — the caller pays in seconds in their own banking app, and only then is the reservation final. No manual work, no awkward conversation on the phone.
Available as a module or included in Voxori Complete · activated during guided onboarding.
Why a deposit stops no-shows
A reservation without commitment is non-committal — and on the busy nights some people simply don't turn up. A small deposit changes the psychology: people who've paid, show up. You keep your tables full without scaring customers off, because iDEAL is familiar to everyone in the Netherlands and done in seconds.
Best of all: Voxori handles it in the same call where the reservation is made. You don't send payment requests or chase anyone afterwards.
From reservation to a paid table — automatically.
Asks for the deposit during the call
When a caller makes a reservation, Voxori politely explains a small deposit is required and sends an iDEAL payment request by SMS right away.
Pay with iDEAL — trusted and fast
The customer taps the link, pays in their own banking app and is done in seconds. No account, no credit card, no friction.
Voxori promises the caller nothing that isn't paid yet
On the phone Voxori says “noted, final as soon as the deposit arrives” — never “booked and done”. She does put the table in your calendar right away, with the outstanding deposit next to it, so you decide whether to call back or let it lapse.
An amount that fits your place
A symbolic few euros per person or a serious deposit for large groups, and from how many people it applies. We set it up with you during onboarding; want it changed later, we adjust it for you.
Deducted or refunded
The deposit can be deducted from the bill on arrival. If someone doesn't show, you've largely covered the loss.
A threshold that filters out the maybes
Someone casually holding a table without really intending to come drops out when there's a deposit — exactly the reservation you would otherwise have watched stay empty. What it earns you depends on your own no-show rate and table revenue; do the maths with your own figures.
The money lands in your account
The deposit runs through your own Mollie account, not ours. Voxori sets up the payment with your key, so the amount reaches you directly — we never hold customer money and there is no pass-through in between.
If anything fails, the reservation still goes through
Payment provider unreachable, SMS not delivered, anything at all — then the reservation is simply made without a deposit. A payment problem must never cost you a guest.
A deposit is one link — here's the whole chain
An empty spot costs you twice: the revenue that doesn't come in, and the customer you could have booked instead. Voxori tackles that in four steps. You switch each one on separately; together they close the loop.
Remind — before the appointment
every industryEvery booked customer automatically gets a text before the appointment, at a time you set. Cancel, and the reminder is withdrawn automatically. This catches the biggest group: people who simply forgot.
Filter — a deposit at the time of booking
restaurantsFrom a group size you set, Voxori asks for an iDEAL deposit during the call. Someone just holding a table drops out here — and the money lands directly in your own Mollie account.
Refill — the moment a spot opens up
every industry · moduleWere you fully booked? Voxori put callers on the waiting list. When a spot opens up through a cancellation in your Voxori calendar, whoever has waited longest gets one polite text that something is free, asking them to call back. She never books anyone in without asking — so a cancellation becomes a chance instead of a gap.
Win back — when it's time for the next one
e.g. dental care · moduleCustomers who are due again on your interval automatically get a follow-up call. Not today's no-show, but the appointment that would otherwise never have been made.
What this earns you depends on your own no-show rate and what a spot is worth to you — so we won't quote a percentage we haven't measured for you. Want to run the numbers with your own figures? See the calculation in Wat kost een gemiste oproep je écht? (Dutch article).
Who is this for?
Right now, for restaurants: an empty table costs you money directly, and a deposit pays for itself fast, especially on busy evenings and for large groups. If you run another reservation-based business — a salon or clinic, say — let us know; we extend the module deliberately and don't switch it on quietly for an industry we haven't tested it for. See the industry pages for your sector.
What the deposit does not do
There is money involved, which makes it all the more important to say where it stops:
It never blocks a reservation. If anything goes wrong in the payment path — Mollie unreachable, integration broken, whatever it is — the reservation simply goes ahead without a deposit. A payment error must never break a call or a booking. You see the outstanding deposit in your dashboard and follow up yourself.
It is for restaurants only. The module is hard-limited to the restaurant template. Other industries cannot switch it on, not even on request — the flow was not designed for them.
It does nothing without your own Mollie account. The money lands with you directly, so the payment runs on your own Mollie key. With no Mollie connected nothing happens: no payment link, no SMS, and the reservation proceeds as if the module were off.
It does not ask every table for money. Only above the threshold you set (number of people). Below it, the caller notices nothing.
What does it cost?
The iDEAL deposit is the module Deposits against no-shows (+€29/month) on top of Voxori Base (€79/month), and is included in Voxori Complete (€319/month) by default. We set up the connection with the payment provider together with you during guided onboarding, so it's tested before your first real reservation. €0 setup, cancel monthly.
Questions about the deposit.
How does Voxori ask for a deposit on a phone reservation?
During the call Voxori mentions that a small deposit is part of the reservation and sends the caller an iDEAL payment request by SMS. She tells the caller it is noted and becomes final once the deposit arrives — she never claims it is already confirmed. The table goes into your calendar straight away, with the outstanding deposit shown next to it.
What deposit amount can I set?
From a symbolic amount per person to a higher deposit for large groups or busy nights, plus the group size it kicks in from. We set it up with you during onboarding and adjust it whenever you want. Note: the deposit is built for restaurant reservations — it runs on the reservation flow, so it is not available for every industry.
What happens to the deposit if the customer shows up?
You can deduct the deposit from the bill on arrival, so the customer pays nothing extra overall. If someone doesn't show, the deposit largely covers the lost seat.
Is the iDEAL deposit available on every plan?
The deposit is the module 'Deposits against no-shows' (+€29/month on top of Voxori Base) and is included in Voxori Complete by default. We switch on the connection with the payment provider together with you during guided onboarding, so everything works before your first real reservation comes in.
Does this work if I don't use Google Calendar?
Yes. Voxori books into Google Calendar or the built-in Voxori Calendar. The deposit works the same either way.
